RUN DIRECTION is determined where the runner crosses the line of scrimmage.
RUN CENTER is between the tackles - extended backward in case of a tackle in the backfield
A play that starts in the center and bounces out left is a RUN LEFT.
A player tackled in the backfield will be scored on where they were tackled.
A Quarterback that drops back to pass, then scrambles and starts running is a RUN.
A Fumble in the backfield may be an UNSCORABLE PLAY

A Shovel Pass or Touch Pass are a RUN
PASS SHORT is up to 5 yards from the Line of Scrimmage and includes the backfield

An overthrown ball to a Receiver 4 yards away is a SHORT PASS - not where the ball landed

Pass Interference, Holding, Other Penalties are scored as if the Receiver caught the ball
PAY ATTENTION IN THE RED ZONE! It's Distance to the Goal Line
A Pass with play starting from the 4-yard line is a PASS SHORT
IF IT LOOKS LIKE A PASS - IT'S A PASS
A backward pass to a Running Back is a PASS SHORT
UNSCORABLE PLAYS are declared for the following:
Plays when the whistle blows it dead
Throwing the Ball Away
Spiking the Ball
Kneel Downs
